Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or hire Ironset Boston Concrete Construction for concrete work. By browsing the site, sending us a request or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If you don't agree with any part of these terms, please don't use the site. You're still welcome to call us at (617) 226-2081 and talk through your job first.

What we do

We're a concrete contractor in Boston, MA. Our work includes driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, foundations, footings, retaining walls and other flatwork, which is our word for flat slabs you walk or drive on. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on the About page.

The descriptions on this site are general. Your written estimate or contract describes the work we'll actually do at your property, and if it differs from anything on the site, the estimate or contract is the one that counts.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, with no pressure to book. An estimate is based on what we can see that day, including the size of the job, access for trucks and equipment, the condition of the old slab and the ground under it.

Some conditions only show up once the old concrete is out and the job is open, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried debris, roots or ledge. If we find something that changes the work or the cost, we'll stop, show you and agree on the change with you before we go on.

Unless your estimate says otherwise, prices hold for a limited time because material and fuel costs change. Any figure on this website is general information and not a quote for your job.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We schedule pours around the weather because concrete placed in heavy rain, deep cold or extreme heat can end up weaker on top. If conditions aren't right on your date, we'll move the pour and let you know as early as we can, and that isn't a breach of our agreement.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the waiting period while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on your slab, and damage from using it sooner isn't covered.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call or write to us as soon as possible. Once we've ordered materials, booked a concrete delivery or started work, you may owe for those costs and for work already done, as your contract describes.

Payment

Your estimate or contract sets the payment schedule, including any deposit and when the balance is due. Payment is due on the dates it lists.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled. We'll talk with you before doing that, and we're glad to work out a reasonable plan if something comes up.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

We stand behind our work, and if something isn't right with the job we did, call us and we'll come look at it. Any written warranty for your job will be in your contract, and it sets the terms.

Concrete can crack, and small hairline cracks are normal as a slab shrinks and settles. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, but they guide cracking rather than prevent it entirely.

We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our control, such as road salt and de-icers, heavy vehicles or equipment the slab wasn't built for, ground movement, tree roots, flooding, changes to drainage after we leave, or work done by others. Color and texture can also vary a little from samples and from one pour to the next.

Apart from any written warranty in your contract, the information on this website is provided as is, without promises of any kind.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured, and we take care around your house, yard and property. To the extent Massachusetts law allows, our total responsibility for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost use, lost income or inconvenience, and we aren't liable for how you use the general information on this website. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Settling a disagreement

If you have a problem with our work or a bill, please call us first. Most issues get sorted out quickly once we're standing at the slab together.

If we can't settle it that way, we'll both try in good faith to resolve it before going to court. Any legal action will be brought in the state courts in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, unless the law requires otherwise.

Which law applies

These terms, and any work we do, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one in effect. Changes won't affect a contract you've already signed with us unless we both agree in writing.

Questions

If you have a question about these terms, call us at (617) 226-2081 or reach us through our Contact page. We respond within 1 business day.
